fig is an educational programming language. you can find out more about fig on this page: https://codeinfig.wordpress.com/2016/02/10/what-is-fig/ or get a free/libre copy of the fig translator (requires python3) here: https://codeinfig.wordpress.com/2016/02/10/fig-3-1-source-code-public-domain/
while fig is one language that tries to make learning to write code as easy as possible, there are many notable efforts towards that purpose. fig is hopefully unique in its formula for addressing the things that make learning to code more difficult.
i also encourage everyone who codes to write a simple programming language. for more: https://codeinfig.wordpress.com/2016/03/05/what-if-everyone-wrote-a-programming-language/
fig is public domain software, under the cc0 license. this license is officially gpl-compatible (it is listed on the fsf website as such) and should be compatible with x11-also-known-as-bsd-style licenses also.
